Kate Middleton and Prince William to Hire British Interior Designer Kelly Hoppen
US Weekly is reporting that the permanent royal residence of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be designed by British interior designer Kelly Hoppen. The royal duo apparently purchased a six-month supply of the designer's home fragrance, to mask the "musty damp smell" of the palace. A royal aide told Us that, 'They want to create a modern quarter to live in. She [Kelly Hoppen] has been actively involved in meetings with William and Kate's office."
A source told the daily mail that, "She's [Kate] also thrown pillows around to make it look more minimalist-chic and less fuddy-duddy."

According to Hoppen's website, Kelly is, "a world renowned British designer who has pioneered a simple but opulent style that has permeated interior design at every level, and has resulted in her work being featured in newspapers and magazines across the globe. As well as designing apartments, houses and yachts for an international list of private clients, she also undertakes commercial commissions including hotel, restaurant, office and aircraft interiors. Her own collections of paint, fabrics, rugs, carpets and ceramics have made her signature look increasingly accessible. Previous books include Table Chic, In Touch, Close Up and the highly influential title, East Meets West. Her latest book, Kelly Hoppen Home, was published in September 2007."
